Community Forum on LGBT Health and Safety
Saturday, August 18 Arizona State University Business Administration C-Wing Building
Join HRC for a community forum on LGBT health and safety on August 18. The event will feature senior Obama Administration official Kathy Greenlee and representatives from the American Civil Liberties Union. Greenlee, the Administrator of the Administration on Community Living and Assistant Secretary for Aging at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, will describe some of the Administration’s efforts to ensure that LGBT people have access to health care and are treated fairly in hospitals, and will engage in a discussion about implementing those policy changes in Arizona. Later in the day, the ACLU will present on safety issues facing the LGBT community. This includes information about bullying protection, free speech, workplace rights and how individuals can get help if their rights have been violated.
