Check-in at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast & training will be at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center at 1300 Lavaca Street. Lobbying visits will be in the State Capitol.

Please join HRC in supporting Equality Texas's Lobby Day March 11, 2013. Hundreds of fair-minded Texans will make the trip to Austin for a day of lobbying to help create positive change during the 2013 legislative session.   

Registration for Equality Texas Lobby Day is free, but advanced registration is required in order to prepare constituent-matched materials and make strategic lobbying team assignments. Equality Texas will provide breakfast and lunch.

Everyone who participates in Equality Texas Lobby Day will be assigned to a lobbying team which will advocate on a single issue. A brief description of all of the issues is available here. More in-depth information is available in the Legislative Information Center. When you register, let us know what issues interest you and we'll assign you to an appropriate team.

Before coming to Equality Texas Lobby Day, you may want to read about the bills pending before lawmakers that could impact YOU!
SB 73 - Prohibits Insurance Discrimination; authored by Senator Rodney Ellis of Houston.
HB 201 - Allows an adopted child to have both same-sex parents on the child's birth certificate; authored by Rep. Rafael Anchia of Dallas.
HB 226 - Prohibits insurance discrimination; authored by Rep. Senfronia Thompson of Houston.
HB 238 - Prohibits employment discrimination; authored by Rep. Michael Villarreal of San Antonio.
