Volunteer with HRC and CASA to Protect Immigrant Youth!
CASA Multicultural Center
8151 15th Ave.
Hyattsville, MD 20783
In partnership with CASA de Maryland, HRC needs you to help young people who were brought to the U.S. as children without immigration papers or whose papers have expired.
Last year, President Obama and the Department of Homeland Security announced relief for these youth under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program by allowing them, if they meet eligibility criteria, to stay in the U.S. for a renewable 2-year term without fear of deportation and to apply for a work permit. CASA provides these youth with assistance in the preparation of DACA applications. To support as many eligible youth as possible, HRC volunteers are needed to help prepare these applications with the guidance of CASA's legal staff. Required training will be provided at 9:00 a.m. No previous experience in the immigration field is necessary. Proficiency in other languages is helpful but not required.
