Phonebank by the Pool for the PA Nondiscrimination Bill

Date:
Wednesday, September 10, 2014
Time:
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Patty & Rebecca's House
Newtown, PA

Come join neighbors committed to achieving full legal equality for the LGBT community for a poolside phonebank to urge our state senator to end discrimination against LGBT Pennsylvanians.

Wine and Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

  • It is hard to believe, but it is still legal in most of the commonwealth to be fired from your job, evicted from your home, or turned away from a business just for being gay or transgender.
  • There are 270,000 LGBT people in Pennsylvania and about two-thirds of them are not currently protected from discrimination.
  • In the Pennsylvania Legislature, SB300 would outlaw discrimination against LGBT individuals in the workplace as well as in housing and public accommodation.  Passing this bill at the state level is paramount because Pennsylvania is the only state with marriage equality and no comprehensive, statewide non-discrimination protections.

What better place to take action than poolside with fellow supporters of equality!
